Massage Therapy

Swedish Massage

Designed to reduce the effects of chronic stress, relieve muscle pain, and calm the nervous system, Swedish Massage is the classic style of bodywork. The client feels a deep sense of relaxation and healing.

Deep Tissue/Deep Work

Some clients request deep work because they believe "if it doesn't hurt, it doesn't work." When clients ask for deep tissue massage, I believe they are asking for tissue engagement; they want to feel a therapeutic change. It is possible to relieve specific muscle issues without causing residual pain.

Pre-Natal/Pregnancy Massage

A pregnant woman receives all the benefits of massage therapy, and the special concerns of pregnancy, such as positioning, are addressed.

Cranio-Sacral Therapy

CST is a gentle, hands-on method of evaluating and enhancing the functioning of a physiological body system called the craniosacral system - comprised of the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord.

Using a soft touch generally no greater than 5 grams, or about the weight of a nickel, practitioners release restrictions in the craniosacral system to improve the functioning of the central nervous system. (source: www.upledger.com)

Oncology Massage

After cancer, there is a new normal. Surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy may cause tremendous physical stress. The oncology protocol is designed for persons currently experiencing cancer , in remission, or for anyone who is medically frail.

Reiki

This gentle energy work supports the body during the healing process. The practitioner transmits energy through her hands to a clothed client. The client may feel a sensation of heat, electricity, or may simply become relaxed and sleepy.
